It's not often I get to take part in a portrait session that is also a family celebration. It's even less frequent when that celebration is held in a place so rich with family history. The fact it all took place on a cattle farm was icing on the cake... or cow patties we carefully walked around.
This land has been in the family for generations. While they are not sure how long, it is pretty cool there is a foundation of a home on the property from the late 1700's. In that setting, hearing stories about the family's history came alive. It was fun to see how it became real to the kids as well. It was totally a fun day.
