I am in love!!!

Ok... don't tell my pups, but this older pup has totally won my heart. We hang out everytime I go out the the Southside SPCA Meherrin facility. He was found abandoned as a retired bear hunter. He's a little older now and has arthritis, but more importantly he has a lot of love to give.

I first met Silas in July. The picture I took of him was featured on a mailing about adopting the senior residents of Southside. A lot of people fell in love with him, but there haven't been any open doors yet for a home. We haven't given up on him.

I insisted using him for the Christmas card photo session we just did. He was scared at first. To top it off, I heard stories right and left how he just wasn't eating. Go figure... this boy settled right in with the first of many, many milk bones he devoured during the session. He may be a senior, but we quickly found out how much interaction energizes him.

I would love to take him home with me, but my home is not friendly towards his arthritis. Do you know would be able to treasure this awesome dog?
